ItalyGuides. It - "Rome Travel Guide" enables you to feel the real Rome through your iPhone. It feels just like you are talking a walk through every important detail of its tremendous history.

This is not just an ordinary travel guide - this is more of a mysterious and fascinating trip: a voyage across more than 20 centuries of creativity through which art and history intertwine, telling the story of what human ingenuity has created through the ages.

Through the use of technology and amazing audio-visual content Rome Guide will take you on an impressive virtual tour through the Colosseum events, gladiator fights and the masterpieces of Michelangelo that will live in your iPhone and will tell you what Rome was like at the height of its splendour.

ROME ATTRACTIONS
Explore Rome attractions, read history, listen audio walk-throughs and narration by a star voice over actor.
ItalyGuides.it reinvented audio-guides, giving them the feel of "Cinema" instead of the academism of traditional ones, with movie-style music, narration by American voice actor Gregory Snegoff, images and video, dramatically enhancing the storytelling process.

SMART MAPS
Beautiful maps each featuring several POIs with audio tracks that will let you discover the many not-to-be-missed sites of Rome as well as legends of the city.
Each Point of Interest has GPS coordinates, so you can figure out which POIs are closest to you or how you can reach them by sending the request to your phone navigator (Apple Maps).

Pros and cons of ItalyGuides: Rome Travel Guide app for iPhone and iPad

ItalyGuides: Rome Travel Guide app good for

Got the Apps and watched the video, including other travel tips and POI list on your maps. Thanks, at least I feel prepared for our first Roma trip.
Wonderful app!! Photos are stunning and commentary very interesting.
My family and I really enjoyed this app and the ItalyGuides Vatican Museum app as well. There is a lot of info in the guide. Its relatively inexpensive compared to on site audio guides. Plus when you are finished at the museum, the material can be reviewed at a later time. The only negatives you might note are that a few of the lesser attractions have text but no audio info and that there is no way to keep the audio continuing from one attraction to the next. Once youve heard the spiel, the audio stops, you have to pull out your phone or ipod to select the next exhibit and hit the play button. Also if you want to pause the playback you have to take out your device, open it and hit the pause button. If you use your earphone controls to stop playback, when you hit them again to resume, your iTunes music will begin, not the app. Minor inconveniences for an otherwise great app.

Some bad moments

Its well designed and good audio quality, kinda a bit of everything nothing in real depth. The strange thing is this group gives almost all the audio used here on iTunes podcast for free, Rick Steves dose this too. I guess the maps, pics and some more audio is worth the cost but its worth downloading the free stuff first. Search Vatican tour or Rome tour also on iTunes theres tons of free material from other companies too, like Rick steves and dk then you can better decide whos material you like and most of them have pay apps.
Awesome guide. Content is well put together. Nice history about each site.
I fell for the little HD tag in the corner and assumed it was iPad compatible. Didnt figure it out until too late. First HD app I bought that was not made for iPad.
Although quite pretty i was expecting something much more interactive for the high price. The worst part is that you cant zoom out on the map so it is difficult to see where something is if you are not familiar with the area. I also expected more pictures of an area and the history to be more in-depth...again I expected much more for the price. It is basically a short summary that I could have read on wikipedia. After using it this weekend, I consider my purchase a waste of money. I should have done what the other reviewer recommended and just listened to them from their website.
This app was excellent for planning my first trip to Rome. Advice about where to stay was spot-on. The video guide was inspiring, and now that I have returned from Rome, it is fun to review places I visited while I was there! Please make this app for other major cities in Italy!
Kids loved the fanfare and music. It held their attention at the sites. Like the offline capability. Love your website too!
